Panamanian DJ/Producer Bruce Zalcer is undeniably one of South America’s most exciting Techno talents. With an impressive catalogue of releases on labels like Tronic, Odd Recordings, Kneaded Pains, Riot Recordings and many more, Bruce is primed for his debut outing on Victor Ruiz’s increasingly popular VOLTA imprint. His two-track “Catharsis” EP, set for release on 27th October, gives us another worthy slice of Zalcer’s dynamic production skills, showcasing an immense depth of creativity.
Kicking things off with the title cut, “Catharsis” sports an immersive blend of celestial musicality and urgent Techno rhythms. Firm drum grooves and hissing hat sequences drive the central core of the track as it bleeds in and out of several atmospheric soundscapes and climactic crescendos to carve out a corrosive and intense acid-tinged peak-time bomb.
Next up, “Truly Yours” completes the release with another masterful display of captivating arrangement and mainstage energy. Emphasising its intricate core of layered pads, sirenic vocals and raw synth lines, its continuum of rolling tonal percs and weighty beat structure bring everything together to complete an imposing VOLTA debut for Zalcer.
